The artist behind our packaging...

Did you know, all of our coffee bag artwork isn't designed by someone on the outside? It was created by the same person who helped build the company from day one — and who continues to help shape the brand to this day.

Owner Yvonne didn't begin her artistic journey until the age of 40. While raising five children and supporting the day to day operations at Mr. Cappuccino, a chance conversation with a customer led her to enroll in an art program in High River, Alberta. There, she spent six months studying under respected art instructor, the late Norman Brown.

After countless late nights, her canvases with local wilderness sceneries, mountain landscapes and inspiration from her many European travels started to take shape. Yvonne still continues to paint today, experimenting with different mediums including oil, water color and acrylic.

As our locally roasted coffee program grew to include retail packaging, using Yvonne’s original artwork felt like a natural extension of who we are. In a world of template branding, her work allows us to showcase something more personal, because just like her paintings, every coffee we offer is unique and carefully curated. Each design is an artistic interpretation of the roast itself—expressing its profile and origin, even before the bag is opened.
